New beginnings

I've enjoyed blogging here but writing under the title "My Values Journey" has it's limitations. Not to mention that it needs explanation. Most everything I've written here is somehow connected to what I've learned at work, even if the learning moment happens at home. In my new blog, I aspire to write about more than Values-based leadership because there is alot more to write and share than that narrowly defined focus. Should you care to find my new blog, click here.

Out with the old, in with the new.

My Favorite Doula

Nancy is on her first out-of-town doula gig, attending to the needs of a new mom. For several reasons, I'm happy for Nancy.

  • In less than a year, she accomplished her goal of being a doula.
  • She is using and sharing her amazing gifts and talents.
  • She can have a role that is independent of her family. I don't think that was difficult for her to take on such a role, I'm just hyper-aware of how much her life revolves around Willa and Henry's circadian rhythms.

Rock on, Mrs. Johns.

New Year's Message From Fashola and Okogie to Nigerian Leaders

Words of wisdom for any community that desires change. Read it, substitute your community's name, problems and opportunities. Apply suggestions. In the future look back to see how much progress has been made.

(By the by, "community" could be a team, business, family, country, cooperative, commune or band of thieves.)

Resume Help Requested and Delivered!

A friend who is applying to graduate schools asked me to read and comment on his resume. How very satisfying!

I don't think he was aware of my desire to help people with their resumes. My intent was that I would help folks who were looking for jobs shine-up their resumes. (See the two previous posts.) Funny how I see what I want, and it comes to me with a slight twist. My personal vision is to help people make the changes that they want to make, and that intentionally leaves room for the "other" to say what they want. So I really need to stay open to what is happening around me, and how I can best live my vision in that environment.

My friend's applications to graduate schools are due in the next several days and weeks. Good luck friend.

January 5 UPDATE: A second friend has asked for input.

Not Needing Resume Assistance

Evidently the previous post was not an enticing offer. No takers, yet.
Oh well.
A little saying I picked up from the book Art of Possibility seems to apply, "How fascinating!"
